Black Kyanite Raven's Rainbow

This was part of an animal series I had done where I had combined clay and crystal to make symbolic shape and form. This Raven shows the iridescence that make their feathers strikingly beautiful to look at. Though they look black in appearance Crow and Raven feathers are highly iridescent. They collect and reflect the light of the world around them causing their feathers to reflect a full spectrum of colours which I attempted to recreate using a special rainbow erosion technique. Raven symbolism is often tied to the spiritual realm. In many cultures, ravens are seen as keepers of secrets and implementers of change.
This pendant is made from beginning to end in high quality polymer clays. All patterns and parts were hand sculpted by myself and carefully arranged for a beautiful 3D piece of wearable art. This necklace comes on an adjustable nylon cord for flexible sizing.
