Batik has been a new way the art has evolved for me. Instead of relying on ties for the pattern, a hot wax is used in the fabric to resist the colours in layers before being boiled and washed out. This shirt was done using my one of my own designs. I have a mixed heritage of Celtic and Nordic European decent and have recently started creating designs with those styles in mind. Each design is based on real wildlife photography, this one was of a baby bear hanging out up in a tree. This is the first in what I hope to be many in a new mini series of norse/celtic inspired artwork. 

All Tie Dyes are made using 100% cotton and Procion MX dyes. everything is set for 24 hours (some are assisted with heat as i live in a cooler climate than some dyers) before being hand washed and heat soaked to assure little to no future colour bleed. For best colour last, as with most companies, we suggest washing on cold with like colours, hang to dry when possible. And if you are busy like me than you may like to hear that personally i have washed hot, mix my laundry and to date, have had no issues.
